The popular teen soap will be the first to show a death as a result of anorexia. The storyline currently shows Hannah and friend Melissa encouraging each other to starve. By September one of the girls will be dead. There are concerns that the show will act as a guide to on how to hide anorexia for vulnerable viewers. What do you think? Will this act as a harsh warning of the dangers of being super-skinny? Or will could it encourage vulnerable viewers tricks on hiding the disorder?

I think the answer to your question is probably both!
Some girls will watch it and it'll frighten them from doing it themselves, especially as someone dies.
While others will watch it and, like you say, maybe get ideas on how to cover up what they're doing. They'll believe that the 'dying bit', wouldn't happen to them.

There is also the fact that mothers who have a daughter like this, might have more of an idea of what to look for and exactly how these girls do cover it up.
i agree with cameo, i also think there will probably be lots of complaints about it when it does air
Pity they can't arrange for all of the cast to become members of a death cult and all top themselves.
i think itll be good and show people that being skinny isnt the most important thing in the world not that i can talk really as im about to start a diet and im 16 and not that fat. meh. im glad one of them are going though they both annoy the crap out of me.
This is just typical of Phil Redmond is all. He is always looking for controversial subjects to cover- he did the same in Brookside- first lesbian kiss etc. If it was't this it would be something else..
'Actress' Gemma Atkinson had a serious story as a self harmer.

Ironically, I think the only influence the enhanced Zoo / Nuts model has had on female audiences is to encourage them to go under the plastic surgeon's knife.
