Hi... Does anyone know of a Portugese Poem that would be suitable for a reading at a civil wedding ceremony (non-religious)?

Not a poem, but maybe you could use something from "love Actually"?

Thank you LeMarchand! Great Suggestion!
I can't look at YouTube right now but I will definitely check it out later.
Do you mean a poem in Portuguese, or an English translation of a Portuguese poem?

Try Lus de Cames, Antnio Franco Alexandre, Vasco Graa Moura or Fernando Pessoa.

For the former, try:

Hi Octavius.
My boyfriends family is Portuguese and so I thought it would be good to have a reading in Portuguese (I will also have a reading in English by someone from my family)... but I have had trouble finding something.

Thanks for your suggestions, I will look into them now!
Maybe you could have a quiet word with a Portuguese relative and see if they can suggest something traditionally suitable?

:-) I have tried that but I don't seem to be getting a very 'Speedy' response so thought I would try to find one myself.
The "Love Actually" bits I was thinking of are English guy/Portuguese girl - you're the other way around! (Presumably)
Question Author
Yes.. we are the other way round.

I was just hoping that there would be a well known poem etc in Portuguese that we could use for a reading. I will also look into the names that Octavius has suggested. I guess if need be I could get an english reading translated into Portuguese but I'm not sure whether that would work??
