How to get rid of food cravings
16 Answers
Right now after reading a certain question on here I'm craving Ben & Jerry's ice cream (just give me a tub, any tub) but how can you conquer food cravings? Usually I want sweets or chocolate and usually end up giving in! Having originally lost 5 stone in 2002-2003 I want to keep my weight down but I've put 9Lb back on and I need inspiration on how not to eat all those gorgeous naughty foods! Any help appreciated.

If you cut sugar out of your diet, after a few days, you won't be craving it much at all. And when you eat it again, it will taste too sweet.
Another thing that works for me is to set a deadline for losing a small amount of weight. Like, now I may say, I want to lose 5lb by when I see my family over Thanksgiving. That gives me incentive to not give in to my cravings, and it seems like such a manageable goal.
Or else, you can allow yourself one craving per day, or 3 per week, etc.
Well done- five stone is FANTASTIC. I have completely lost my sugar cravings, and I did this by doing the Carol Vorderman detox diet. It is amazing. You eat really healthy natural foods for 28 days, by which time you simply don't want processed, sugary or salty food anymore. It's only for 28 days but I can guarantee that after that time you won't want to go back to the way you ate before. It's not so much a weight loss thing as a way to change unhealthy eating habits. But it is great, and it's totally worked for me..
Congratulations on the weight loss, and what an achievement!!! (Means there's hope for me yet!!)
I get the munchies too for all the wrong things, especially when I'm tired, bored or stressed!!
There was an advert on TV the other evening for 'Cremosa' lollies by Chupa Chups. Apparently they taste of strawberries and cream and are sugar free. Will that help?
