I want a cat
10 Answers
i would really love to get a cat but i also live in a flat. i live on the second floor, but their are three doors into my flat and i think it would be very difficult for it to get outside and i may not know when it wants to come in. i would really love a cat but there seems to be no way round it.

Many centres are full of cats that have to be kept indoors.

Definitely go for a rescue looking for an indoor only home. My cat was like that - he was actually scared of the big wide world when I got him and hid under the bed whenever anyone opened the back door! He has since got over that and now enjoys sunbathing in the garden and swatting at flies but he was a totally indoor cat for over a year and was very happy.

I have a rescue cat that has chosen to live upstairs in the bedrooms and has done this now for over ten years, she made the decision to move upstairs when she was a kitten and we tried to coax her down but she never was comfortable down stairs , so we sp[end time with her daily and let her be , her brother who we also rescued is completely the opposite and is happy to go outside so in answer to your post cats as others have said can stay indoors and be content GypsyX
I live in a flat on a busy road and have had a 3 mnth old kitten for 6 weeks. He hasn't become curious to get outside as yet, but I plan to get him used to a leash soon just in case.
My advice is to find as many ways to entertain him as possible indoors, lots and lots of games to fulfill that hunting instinct should keep his mind off the great outdoors. I saw a robotic, motion-sensor mouse in the pet shop that I'm going to buy for when I'm not in. Go for it!
