Has anyone cruised on this ship please? We are spending a month on board early October to November with a transatlantic crossing and a visit to South America via the Panama canal any advice on what to expect from this cruise would be very welcome I've read the reports on the cruise critic site but opinions seem to vary widely Thanks a lot
I haven't; but bear in mind with an Atlantic crossing that several days are going to be spent just at sea without port stopovers (Ceuta -Madeira-Virgin Islands, isn't it?) I expect you'll make up for that on the other side, but you might want a good book or two at the start. There are several websites on this sort of thing; just google cruise reviews
The Panama Canal is brilliant! (I used to be a Civil Engineer, so I may be a bit biased!). We went through from Pacific to Atlantic in Nov 2003. The transit takes about 10 hours. Don't panic about having to see everything at once. There will be plenty of time to see the locks etc from all angles. We started going through at 5.30am and apparently people had been up at 4am 'bagsing' the best seats in the buffet restaurant and on deck at the front of the ship. If this is your first cruise don't worry, you will love it! Wish I was coming too!
