The 3 credit checking agencies that companies use are

Experian
Equifax
Callcredit

One of them should be able to tell you what the problem is

A house cannot be blacklisted - there is no such thing.

When a credit search is done, it is the individual (and any known associated people who share a financial link) who are searched.

When your son was told he was refused credit he should have been given a leaflet which told him of the company used to obtain the credit search.

As mentioned above, google each of the companies mentioned and get a copy of your report (statutory copies cost 2.00) - this will throw some light on the situation
They used to go by address and now they dont
that is they agreed not to

I am sure there is alot aboutthis on the net
Clearly one person should not be saddled with another's credit rating by association
Unless they have a financial link - I.E mortgage, joint bank account etc. If they have a financial link then the other persons credit rating will affect yours.
