red bull make u blind

hello i was in the train station today with a can of red bull in my hands at the man at the information desk said i would be carefull drinking that because its been known to cause blindness , he seemed serious , is this true ?

I dunno about it making people go BLIND!!!!! But, it has been banned in a few European countries because of the high content of taurine and caffeine. There have been deaths linked to it's consumption...i think, through it's use on the clubbing scene where it's commonly mixed with vodka. The stimulant effect on the body, mixed with the obvious effects of the alcohol, can be a somewhat dodgy cocktail if you're spending your whole night jumping around on a dancefloor.
I very much doubt, however, that a can a day is going to have any real adverse effect!

Ethel, just on a side note trusting the food standard agency isnt the safest thing to do, just look at their history (and research it yourself). The amount of money the company pays the government through taxes has an impact on decisions also.
