As I remember Horace from the 50s, he was much chubbier than that Johnny-come-lately from the 70s and had fair - or at least paper-coloured! - curly hair. I'm not surprised that he originated in the 30s; a lot of the characters in comics in the 50s were of pre-war origin. I suspect that Keyhole Kate was of similar vintage.......
