why do people get so angry because housemates appear to be ''there for themselves'', or ''playing a game''?
6 Answers
why in earth else would they be there?
why is there this obsession with hating any of the ones who are 'there for themselves''?
who else should they be there for exactly?
why shouldn't they want something more out of it?
i would imagine that it would be sensible to aim for something more out of this!
they are all the same - just some are better at pretending its for ''good'' reasons than others...
and it is a GAME SHOW!! of course they are playing it!!
why wouldn't they? its the whole point!
anyone who doesn't play the game shouldn't really be there!
some claim to only be there for the experience or to learn about themselves or something - and that is probably true - but not the only reason - most of them think they will become celebs.
we should applaud the ones who 'play the game' not hate them for it!
at least they are interesting!

However - you can play the game without showing off, bullying, talking like a incesent lunatic without coming up for breath, parading your ugly parts all over the place.
Everyone likes a "nice" person playing the game, a natural - of course your gonna get your low life and your "look at me, I'm the only one in here" people, but that's life. Everyone likes the good guy/guyette. Go and meditate for a few minutes and just be happy BB is on at the moment.
Chill!

I dont divide my attentions between the ones who admit to playing the game and the ones who dont. I detest them all equally.
They are not in it to discover themselves. You can do that building a school or clinic in Africa for poor starving locals, or generally helping people who are less fortunate than you for goodness sake you could even just disappear for a few months like Stephen Fry to find your true purpose in life.
This is the short route to fame (and fortune probably) where for a brief number of years you can still sell your story and hob-nob at celebrity bashes and film premiers. Dont kid yourself that they are in it for anything other than a dash of celebrity in their very dull lives, at the expense of the mugs who fund it (people who vote on BB, people who buy Heat etc).
Applaud the ones who play the game? Why? For going through the selection procedure and being chosen? Is that really worthy of our collective admiration? And interesting? Because they have been foisted on to our TV screens from obscurity? Would you say that if you met Amy in the Post Office at Horncastle, or Ziggy at some seedy nightclub in Mayfair? I doubt it.

octavius - you missed my point - i meant applaud as opposed to attack - by no means was i suggesting that these people deserve any sort of admiration, but that if you admire any of them (an some people do!) that it should be the ones playing the game not the others
eyeshade - i am perfectly calm.
why can't a person ask a few questions without someone telling them to chill and calm down?
If i start ranting and raving and foaming at the mouth, then tell me to chill, but don't just for putting forward a few queries. I am entitled to ask questions, without being patronised.
I could not care less about big brother, nor do i rejoice that it is on - i just wanted to know why people in the house, and indeed outside, seem to get so hung up on this sort of thing.
why there are so many ''accusations'' of this nature flung about, sometimes for no reason.
they are not all ''... showing off, bullying, talking like a incesent lunatic without coming up for breath, parading your ugly parts all over the place....'' sometimes they have done nothing wrong.
there is a girl there now (amy?) who they all seem to hate because of a 'vibe' or a 'feeling' or a 'sense' - no real evidence, but they gang up.
same thing happened with billy - he apparently 'stared at people' so he was clearly evil personified.
i know they have reasons for not getting on, but sometimes it seems like snap judgements based on very little, and the person is painted as a nasty piece of work.
