Hi everyone, can anyone help?
I want to shorten some trousers and jeans by myself and wanted to know any tips or advice anyone can give me?
I've tried taking the trousers to an alterations but he said he will charge �10 per pair!!!
Anyone please help & your advice will be greatly appreciated.

yes the jml machine is about �20 but you can get one cheaper on ebay - or just hand sew.
if they are all the same length, get the alteration person to do one and ask them to give you back the bit they have cut off (for patches) - then use that as a guide to how much to cut off the rest of them, then just fold in about centimetre, then fold again a bit bigger than that, then sew or wonderweb it.

Once you have learned to sew, you will find yourself easily able to do all sorts of other useful things, like shorten curtains, nets, make things like cushion covers, repair garments etc. It's a really handy skill !
