What has happened to the multitude of night clubs offering cabaret acts. The names where magic, Astoria, Fiesta, Sinatras,Christadelphia, all sorts of lovely names.
Who remembers Margo and the Marvettes, a girl and 2 boys singing in the 70's.

My first wife's sister's boyfriend was "Ernesto the mad magician" I used to go with him when he performed in various night clubs.
The best venues were the sunday shows when strippers were on, I went backstage with him while he got ready for his act. I will never forget the strippers using ice cubes, imagine that.

The best sunday morning club was in Monk Bretton, where the darter John Lowe came from.

Who remembers these cabaret shows?
