This probably isn't correct as I don't know the context of the quiz but, the cornish word for church is eglos.

Are you sufficiently close to completing it that you can suggest what letters 2 & 3 might start with?

Bibster - why don't you repost this with the other 2 clues you've got unanswered, letting us all know that they should begin with D, H, N or W - 1 each if I've understood you right. Now the weekend crosswords are out of the way people may have more time.
