More car trouble!!!

I went to start my car this morning (peugeot 306) and the battery was flat. Nothing worked at all. I assumed it was because I was fiddling with the interior light the night before and left it on. I put the battery from my old peugeot 106, as recommended by bloke in Halfords, but it still won't start, although the lights now come on and the central locking works. It didn't before. Does anyone know what the problem could be? Thanks.

It's time to dust the cobwebs off the money pouch and buy a new battery
Could be the old 106 battery has a little power left in it but not enough to turn the engine over. Try using jumpleads with a neighbour's car.

The battery works fine on the 106 though and have tried jump leads with neightbours car.
Different voltage battery? Otherwise if you just hear a "clicking" sound when you try to start it ,then maybe the starter motor has jammed.

Hmmmmm think its just a buzzing noise. I've got the original battery on charge so I'll try that one in the morning. Only had the car 2 days. So annoyed!!!
