Motor insurance claim for vandalism in a supermarket car park
my son left his motor car in a supermarket car park and then went on holiday for a week. Upon his return he discovered that the car has been vandalised. Although he acted stupidly for parking there in the first place is it likely that he could put a claim in to his motor insurance company? Because he was on 'private land' will that negate his cover...or might they refuse the claim due to negligence...

If it's fully comp insurance he can claim for vandalism. He may lose his no claims bonus and he will have to pay any excess.
They may not pay up if they know it was parked there for a week though. And he should not lie to the insurance company about it - if it is badly vandalised they may ask questions of the supermarket.

Hello,
Your son will be covered for vandalism damage is fully comp. It will not be advised to tell them where the vehicle was parked for how long. Has the incident been reported to the supermarket and police? Think abouth this before any change of where the vehiclewas parked.
Let me know and I can advise you further as I work as an insurance claims investigator!
