gap cover insurance

hi took gap insurance out on my car and i paid the outstanding ballance of the finance over a year ago.but i have still been paying the gap insurance for over a year now even though i do not have the car no more i phoned up to cancel it but the lady on the phone from blackhorse told me that it is non cancellable could any body please tell me if this is true thank you

You may have to give notice (like one has to on house and car insurance) otherwise they may charge you a fee. If they kick off..simply cancel the Direct Debit and agree a settlement figure.

thanks for your answer princerainie but when i spoke to them on the phone they said if i cancel the direct debit i will default the account and the only way i could settle the account was if i pay the remainder of the ballance in full
