I have a Yucca tree outside in the garden it has flowered, and I am left with a big stem sticking out the centre, do you think I should saw it of, if yes were. It also has alot of dead leaves at the bottom of the tree, should I chop pull or cut them.? I will be very greatful for any help.
Thanks Malone
Let the 'spike' die. Then cut it off at the base, or as near at the base as you can. Try pulling them, if it works then great! The 'leaves' of the plant are very, very sharp. Otherwise, let it be and next year you'll have more spikes and more flowers. They are impressive - for a while at least.
Thanks for your answer, I have tryed to pull them off, it was a job getting underneath the healthy leaves the spikes on the end of them dont arf stick in you, but it looks alot better for it. Thanks again
