This morning on ITV there was a man on with complaints about the care home his relative was in.He said that the staff that work there and most homes only work there as it is a job and that they are not interested in the welfare of the residents.I have worked in care homes and I was very dedicated to my work .What are your opinions? I know you hear of bad reports at times in some homes but to come on tv and down all the homes is not very nice of him.

I know a great many people who work in care homes because they want to. There are plenty of other jobs paying poor wages that are easier. I think these people should be applauded for the work that they do which is so very poorly paid. I think they're wonderful
As a previous charge nurse in a care home, I have to say you get good and bad. Most are vastly underpaid and the job is often very physically and mentally demanding. It takes a special person to be content in that job considering the wages they get.
I would also like to add that you very rarely hear the good stories about dedicated staff, nobody wants to hear it. We have become a nation of complainers.
