Ticket on tinted windows

Ok I got a ticket a week ago now for the tint on my window, and I have had my car since Feb. of 2006 and I live in the city limits of my town and the police stopped me on my way to work and told me that my tint was too dark. I said ok and he tested my window and they were 15% visability, but they don't look that dark because I have a sunroof. When he stopped me it was 6:30 am and my windows was fogged up. The reason I'm so mad is because I'm not the only on in my town with illegal tint and for him to just stop me that was wrong. What can I do? Is it legal for police to have their personal cars or trucks below 35%?

Well, first point is that it does not matter what everybody else is doing,if you are wrong then you are wrong, second point is - how do you know that everybody else has not also had the same treatment ?

Well done to your police - I wish ours were as sensible! I just hope that all his colleagues have your registration pinned up in their cars so they can check your car every time they see you. Tinted windows and anything else that idiots like you persist deserve everything they ask for.

A couple of phrases in your post suggest you are in the US (forgive me if I'm wrong) - if so you are unlikely to get expert advice here on what is legal and what isn't.

The same laws apply to the police as anyone else

First of all if you didn't have any advice mad butcher [edited by ABED] your shouldn't have said anything, and second of all they should have your registration pinned up to stop your ass for being stupid. And to you qapmoc I know that everyone else isn't getting the same treatmeant because they are not black. Slavery is over and I don't appreciate being single out buy one freaking police when the other ones pull up beside me like nothing isn't wrong. And true if it the law they should inforce it more and not just pick out who they want to. Yes I am in the US.

No, because it's easy to remove sun glasses if the conditions change.
