MM Links Week 3 August
66 Answers
Good Morning Linkers everywhere! This is Queen Alibobs once again.
Already it is Week 3 Oh how time flies. There are not enough hours in the day sometimes! How have I been spending my time?
Well, last Sunday was a glorious day. Mr Bobs and I decided to take the train up to London, so we could have a stroll along the Thames and enjoy the weather. We didn't head off too early, 'cos Mr Bobs likes his Sunday lie-in and anyway only mad dogs and Englishmen go out in the midday sun Mr Bobs is Scottish and is quite sane, so falls into neither category!
We headed off up to London Bridge, but decided it would be quieter to wander around the City rather than along the Embankment, which is so busy this time of year. We passed Pudding Lane, the site where the Great Fire of London began. There is a sandwich shop there now, and I wonder where they get their bread from?
We sauntered past The Old Bailey, a magnificent building, its present form dates from 1807. Incredible to think what happens in that building with some of the more famous trials going on for months and months. We wandered around St Paul's Cathedral and I resisted the urge to burst into song a la Mary Poppins "All around the Cathedral, the saints and apostles look down as she sells her wares." Probably just as well as the only thing I have in common with a nightingale is I have the same birthday as Florence Nightingale! No, not the same year, Cheeky!
By this time, the sun was well past the yardarm and we end our visit with a trip to the pub. I don't remember much after that!
