Do spayed Female Cats Still Want to Mate?
3 Answers
My female cat will not let my grandaughter alone during the night. She paws and pushes constantly on her hair, which is so thick and long. She nuzzles into her hair and face throughout the night. It almost looks like she is trying to mate with her hair. I know that sounds bad, but I can't figure out why she does this. Could it be she feels so content with all that long thick hair to play with? Please help. Thank you.

My cats get bored during the night and one of them seems to spend the whole night trying to waken me up so that I can play with him.
Some cats also find the need to knead soft things - pillows, duvets and your granddaughter's hair. It is a kick back to when they were kittens and they kneaded their mum so that they could get their milk. I have always been told that it is a sign of contentment.
I don't think that there is a problem - but it might be a good idea to stop the habit so that your granddaughter can get a decent nights sleep.
