electric supply on a campsite
2 Answers
Any campers out there who can help me......
Normally , how far is an electric supply situated from a tent pitch on a campsite, (i understand not all campsites have them).
I would imagine it differs from site to site, but are they normally within a few metres ?
I need this info so i can guage the length of cable i will need to buy on the hookup.
Thanks for any help......G

However- having said that -it all depends on the camp site. Some have dedicated pitches- some you just pile in where you can fit. The one I was on in Cornwall was a basic field with loos and shower block. One electric hookup point on one side of the field. Wasnt particularly busy - you could have pitched a tent within a couple of metres of it. If you were unlucky you could have pitched 50 yards away.
I would make up a lead of ten metres or so. Then I would make up an extension lead of around 20 metres and salt that away just 'in case'
