At a staggering 64.6metres (at last measurement) the UK's tallest tree is a Douglas Fir (Pseudotsuga menziesii) in Scotland. The Douglas Fir originally hails from North America but was fittingly brought to our shores by the renowned Scottish plant hunter David Douglas in the 1820s.
