I'm moving into my house next month and looking for the best broadband deal. We're all students so we need to keep it cheap, preferably under 15 a month and we download a lot so we can't be tied to a download limit. We don't want a phoneline either. We're also all girls so don't have any idea what any of the numbers mean! What speed would anyone suggest? Can anyone recommend a good deal that might suit us?
Thanks.

If you don't want a phoneline it will have to be VirginMedia cable:

It's the only supplier that doesn't use a phoneline.

Yeah I had a feeling I might have to go with them. Was with them last year and had a lot of problems and ended up paying nearly 40 a month...they saw us coming!!
You have to get a phone line. Sadly, BT changed their policy last year, so you have to get a fully-fledged one too (before, you could just get a really cheap one, that only did broadband and incoming calls).

Tiscali do a phone line for 15 a month, unlimited.
BT's cheapest phone line is 12/month or so.
Virgin did see you coming! I pay 10 a month and I've been with them for years (telewest originally).

You must have had a tv package with them as well.

I don't have a phone line at all - I use Skype.
Don't forget that the small print of any contract will pretty much guarantee that you can't download gigs and gigs every day.
