ariel turn to 30

Why in Ariel's turn to 30 adverts (the ones with the polar bears and ice caps, etc.) does the temperature dial in every scene only get turned to 34degrees down from 40? It quite clearly does not get turned all the way down to 30!! Surely this is the point of the whole advert! Is it some clever get out clause by the soap powder maker, subliminally saying, you can turn to 30 but we recommend a minimum of 34 for better results???!!
This is something that winds me up so much! Yes I am that short of things to worry about!

seems a shocking mistake tho when it is the whole focal point of the advertising campaign!!
