Adagio??

What does the word 'adagio' mean? adagio as in adagion 4 strings and the work from Vivaldi!! Vivaldi is awesome!! Is this word Italian?? Is it strictly a musical term??

i always try and calm down a manic piano pupil of mine who loves all things loud and fast (oops) so i always make her play adagio, pretend we are in a room full of babies sleeping!!!!!

dolly pond - you teach piano??? I have an absolute afinity for the piano but have never had lessons!!! It is simply one of the most beautiful things in the world!! I will have lessons one day when i get my own house to have room for a piano!! Ive had to stick to the keyboard and teach myself!! I am in complete awe of you!!
