Clio: hazard lights

Recently bought a W reg Clio, which I love! But on 3 occassions when I have started it first thing the hazard lights flash on the dashboard. Haven't actually checked to see if the lights themselves are on. Have to press hazard switch on then off again, or turn car off then on again to rectify the problem. Is this a common fault with Clios, easily sorted or expensive??
Thanks

Could be the alarm is going off but the siren is broken? The moment you turn the key in the ignition it registers you are the owner and stops it.
Do you use the remote to open the car of the key?
