i bought a new tv but have the same problem as the old one, its like part of the picture is missing at the sides, its a widescreen and no matter what setting it is on, the full picture is not there, i've ran out of ideas, but i'm not that technical anyway, can anyone suggest anything?

A bit like needing to call in a plumber to fix a leaking tap if you don't know what to do. At a guess you bought the TV online, or from a supermarket type outlet that don't offer a set up facility. With the money you saved, just accept that calling someone in, and paying their charge, will be the quickest and least frustrating route to take. Happy widescreen viewing
don't you know any tech savy people (nieghbours)in your area that you can ask,if it cant be fixed,get the place you bought if off to come and see to it as it will be under warranty ,if you got it off the interne its more of a problem to ,but bits still in warranty,they usually have local repair people do this for them
