Insect repellent
As some of you are, I am going away soon to sunnier climes. However I am very scared of being eaten alive by mosquitos, as this has happened me before.
Does anyone know of a good and effective make of insect repellent?

My mother is a positive smorgasboard for the little blighters, but they ignore me totally. I think your best option is to consult your pharmacist - your skin type and colouring may have an impact on which repellant works for you, so have a word with a few different assistants, and see what advice they can give. A call to your GP may assist as well.
Beyond chemical repellants - try to stay unattractive to mossies by wearing no fragrances - including perfumed soaps
If it's not too hot then wear light, long trousers or skirts in the evenings and use a mosquito net - try camping shops for these.
Taking a course of anithistamines - e.g. Clarityn, Zyrtec etc - this will reduce the effect of any bites you do get
