As far as I'm concerned, these sort of people - Winehouse, Doherty et al, are the sort of losers that reflect the declining state of British society. They are very poor role models and they couldn't care less what people think of them. They gallivant around high on drink and drugs, get arrested, slap on the wrist, bit of rehab to keep the judge happy, back on the drink and drugs, in a neverending cycle. Because they are supposedly "famous" they get away with it time and time again, and those that look up to them think it's okay to do the same (not all, admittedly, but some will).
Who says Amy is the "cream" of British singing? She's the bottom of the barrel! If you want someone who is the cream, just look at Annie Lennox, for example - classy, great singer. I can't imagine Amy Wino being around and still going strong after 20 years or more. She said it herself: "You Know I'm No Good"...
