Is this literature or history? I am looking for opinions of the best single book I could read about Richard Lionheart--the man, not the myth. Thank you all.

It's both... Richard the Lionhearted was King Richard I. I'd try "Warriors of God: Richard Lionheart and Saladin in the Third Crusade", by James Reston. entertaining to read but with historical references as well. (Publisher is Anchor Books/Doubleday. Good luck!
