I was quite content with life and no longer felt that I needed to be in a committed relationship when along came the person I am with now. We have been together for 14 years......and we are still not married so I'm definitely not smug!
I met my ex when I least expected it! I got a job when I was 16 and was working in a shop before I was planning on going to college! I ended up falling in love with my boss (my ex) and we spent 5yrs together, lived together etc.. It changed all the plans I had with my best mate back then... but now my ex has gone and my best mate is still in the picture! Only time I have ever been in love really.. and so I am playing the field and having fun but something unexpected happened.. something I can't control and I don't know where I will end up yet.
Well I did, 19 years ago now, was actually with someone else at the time, part of longstanding girl/boy group thing for about 10 years, and had a house together. But met my great partner & father of my 3 children after a late shift with my colleague whose birthday it was. Total accident, myself and the two others on shift were going to go for a drink after work, and one explained that his mates had a surprise get togther for his birthday so did we mind going there. The rest is history. Our daughter has just got 2 A*s 7s & a B in her GCSE, smug but still not marrried.
