Standard Card Suit Ordering?
3 Answers
I like playing card games with my friends/family and we have recently stumbled on a problem, - agreeing over the card suit hierarchy. My personal belief is that there is a (UK?) standard ordering, based on their alphabetical position: i.e. from lowest to highest, (C)lubs, (D)iamonds, (H)earts and then (S)pades being the highest. Is this correct? I have checked a website and it just says that there are many different orders, and no one definitive. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

A good way to find out is by going to a game site like Yahoo or Pogo and reading the rules for the specific card game you are going to be playing. For example one game that definitely has a pecking order is the game of SPADES when 2's are wild, hence some 2's are stronger than others depending on suit. Read rules for the game of "Euchre" too this might help.
