Steep hill and strange hill

My grandfather always reminded us a long time ago of a hill somewhere that was so steep that every now and then there were water taps by the side of the road that you could fill your car radiator with so it didn't overheat.

Also he said there was a hill somewhere that somehow would magically pull cars up it without them having their engines on!

Anyone know if there are such hills?

Now the 2nd one I can help you with. Called the Croy Brae (or Electric Brae) it's in Scotland and at certain points on this hill your car will move of it's own accord, apparently.
I went here when I lived in Scotland many moons ago you certainly od feel as if you're moving - it is an illusion

I've experienced one of these "magic hills" where you seem to go uphill with the engine switched off near to Dundalk, Eire.

I don't know the answer but the steepest hill I have driven up is the one out of Porlock in Somerset. It's very steep and goes round into sharp bends and I was shaking when I got to the top - I will never drive up that one again!

the Electric Brae is all to do with the way the road is laid out so that when you look at it form where you park your car you get the illusion you are moving. Much like when you are on a stationary train and the one next too you moves and you think ti's your train.
There's no magnetic pull or anything else magnetic on these 'magic hills'; that is all part of the Urban Myth attached to them

there is a hill called Pollock hill that is very steap, you have to go up it in first gear!
