If someone is lodging on your property and they want to have their own business telephone line installed on your property, are there any legal pitfalls that you know about if this occurs?

The most obvious pitfall is that they would (probably) be entering into a 12 month contract - what happens if they leave early?

That is an interesting point. It may be an excuse for him to try to remain a lodger in my house for 12 months too, but that would be too long a time. It would be easier for both me and him if landlords weren't overcharging people for renting mostly sub-standard properties.
