Why can not our user names be in bonny colours?

Why is it when you are new you can be green (I realise green can mean new and naive) but when established you become a rather dull grey.

Would it not be more attractive if usernames were in colour?

I rather fancy a navy blue.

I can foresee problems here.

AB's socialists won't like it if there username comes up in blue. Tories won't want their name in red. Homophobes won't want it in pink. Orange won't be too popular with some people in Northern Ireland. How about a bright and cheerful yellow for everyone? ;-)

Never thought of potential political implications. What about vowels and consonants having different colours so that there would be no obvious affiliation?

Unless users wanted to be seen adhering to a political party/colours, then having worked out what particular vowel or consonant was what colours, they could then base their username on some word created so that they would be say, all true blue.

I wonder what Enigma would make of our current names if letters were colours coded
