naughty cat around food
my kitten is about 5 months old and is very loving but she is a little sh*t when it comes to food. she always has food out, so she's not hungry (maybe a little picky). when you go into the kitchen she runs around your feet and meows like she's on fire! you can't eat your own dinner or prepare any food for yourself because she starts going mental. can i calm her down in any way so she's not like this as an adult cat? thanks x

In the kitchen is two bowls of cat food that have just been put out.
As soon as they are sure that they are getting none of my food - once I have eaten it all - they will go and eat their food.
At least with a dog you can admonish it and send it into the next room. A cat will laugh at you if you try that.
Have fun! :-)

One thing about cats - they are never boring.
They are always thinking up ways to annoy you. When I go to the loo Frankie sits on the shelf and bats things off the shelf. There are little plastic ducks and pony tail bands and other small things flying towards me. I can hear his snigger.

I take it that she's been wormed? only that can make them a little food obsessive. Apart from that cats always think that they might be missing out on something tastier. You could always try eating your dinner out of a cat bowl on the kitchen floor and leaving their dinner on a dinner plate in the front-room. It could just work!
