I bought a new Renault 5GT Turbo (about 12 years ago) and was told the plugs terminals were gold (And believed them when it came to it's first service! as they cost me 100 for a new set) I have since found out it was a scam. True, gold is a great conductor and is used in electrical connection points (mostly CPU's) but the temperatures inside an engine are way too high for a spark plug to use pure gold as an electrode! Prove me wrong petrol heads and modders out there!
