no friends !
2 Answers
I used to be really outgoing with a large group of friends, but since the start of the year, i have put on a lot of weight, lost quite a bit of confidence , and realized that actually, most of my friends are not very nice people (talking about one another behind backs etc etc),
So now it has got to the point i am at home more or less day in day out. My hubby works 9-5 and i have a son full time at school, so apart from a trip to town, or seeing one or two of nice friends i do have, i feel i am here rotting away! What can i do about this ??

Sounds to me like you have been reassessing your values. girls/women do tend to talk about each other and it's not neccessarily because they are being horrid. but gathering information and assessing their own thoughts. We tend to take different friendships which offer something to our wellbeing, if you feel you're not getting anything from them, then you've actually lost nothing.
It is better to have friends you are comforatble with than friends that can't offer anything in return. You don't have to trust everyone to the enth degree to socalise with them.
If you have a couple of quality friends, you will find, in time your network will grow again.
If you feel a little board and lonely you could always join a club of somesort, this could be the confidence builder you need.
You will be OK, believe in yourself

Time, I think, for you to start broadening your interests and developing more a life of your own. Why not contact your local library and get details of the latest Adult Education Classes which start around now. There are usually lots of things to chose from, from leaning about computers to yoga & dance classes or learning a new language. Having a new interest might also help to boost your confidence and give you the motivation to lose a little weight.
