I need inspiration.
We have been watching comedy box sets at the mo and I am wondering what else is worth watching? We have completed the Friends series and we are now working our way through Frasier and Cheers.
Are there any other comedy shows worth getting that are along similar lines?
Thanks in advance

definately recommend only fools and horses. iv watched them over and over again and they never fail to crack me up :-)
my name is earl & Family Guy - great.
Sounds like you prefer the American sitcoms? If so, I highly recommend King of Queens and Everybody Loves Raymond.
Max and Paddy...Ding Dang Do
If you're into American comedy (which, in general, I'm not), try to track down videos of the funniest ever American comedy series, 'Soap'. It's absolutely brilliant!

Otherwise, stick with British comedy. 'Only Fools and Horses' has already been suggested. Alongside that, I'd have to suggest the wonderful 'Fawlty Towers'.

I'd go with those two as well, especially the episode of Fawlty Towers with Basil, the rat - a classic (and hilarious!) The other one that cracks me up is the Only Fools, where Raquel is singing in the nightclub with the guy who can't pronounce his "r's".
Invasion.
Dinner ladies and Black Books are both good, also have borrowed House which is meant to be really good but not watched it yet
SCRUBS!! You haven't lived until you've seen JD et al...
Question Author
Thanks for the tips. Its not a general preference for American comedies, as I love Blackadder, Only fools etc. Are there any good recent brit coms out apart from the obvious. I haven't lived in the UK now for a few years (moved to Spain) so I don't know whats about these days.
Several:
Black Books
League of Gentlemen
The Royle Family
Dinnerladies

All top class entertainment
If you like "Friends", try "How I Met Your Mother" (may be Region 1 only, though).
As has been said, you seem to like American comedies.

One show that is called the English "Friends" is Coupling.

About 3 men and 3 women, all 20-something, and their relationships.

I happen to think this is a very funny and well written comedy that bears watching over and over again.

They made 4 series but the first 3 are best. One character, Jeff, is one of the best comedy characters to appear for many years (but he was not in series 4)

There are quite a few scenes from Coupling in You Tube.

Here is one featuring Jeff, who is very shy, but fancies this girl on the train, but he has only ever seen her from behind.

And then one day she sits opposite him.....

"My Name Is Earl" is the funniest thing on TV in the last couple of years. The "Cops" episode the other night had me crying with laughter.
