I'm glad your getting his back checked, I hope he's OK. He could well just be winding you up!!! My 5 yr old TB has taken to putting the whole of his head in the water trough, then wiping it on me!!!!!!

That's hilarious 'tache!!
I've got a 14 yo TB gelding and he can get very sensitive around his back and withers. I do have to say though that as time has gone on he has become an expert at feigning illness to avoid work; he regularly pretends to faint when I go near him with his bridle (I've got him in a Nathe racing bit, for heaven's sake, and still he complains!!)
I would wholeheartedly agree with 'tache, has he got any signs of pressure or bumps anywhere? Could your saddle do with checking?
I know you'll already know this, but you need to show the chiropractor how he behaves when you go to tack him up.
I hope you get this issue sorted, will you let us know how he goes ?

Funny you should say that, horsetache.
My pony has taken to laying down in his stable when it is time to go out.. we had him checked for colic and he didn't have that.
When he finally stood up he had this glint in his eye which kind of said 'Gotcha'. He has done it several times now and it's starting to get old...lol.

I only read this thread because I was bored.
I have no first hand experience of horses at all. I didn't realise that they were this devious.
I have heard of dogs limping to get cuddles or sympathy or devious behaviour in cats. I didn't think that horses were like that.
I always wanted a pet bull when I was younger - I grew up in a council housing scheme and have lived in the town centre for the last 20 years. I don't think the neighbours would like it if I got one - the cats are noisy enough.

A bull bull - we have 'bull sales' in the town and I had decided that I wanted one - must have been looking at the pictures in the paper.
Pit bulls are not my sort of dog. I like big pony sized dogs.
leetmullins I hope you get to the bottom of your horse's problem. It is never easy seeing an animal you love upset over something.
