DNA testing in crimes.
4 Answers
I once read a story about a man getting convicted of an violent burglary on DNA evidence alone. He pushed and pushed his appeal and somehow managed to get them to retest his DNA. After coming back as a match again, his "people" got it sent back and got them to check it at more points and it came out that it wasn't him.
I cant find the link or story etc explaining it.
It might have had something to do with mitochondrial dna.
Ajnyway the reason I was thinking about it was the whole Maddie Mccann thing and wondering how similar her blood could be t her mothers. So how does the whole testing thing work and with families involved would they automatically test the DNA at more points than they would normally?
