A few weeks ago in the refridgerator compartment I noticed that the drain hole at the back of the fridge compartment had iced up and wasn't allowing water to pass through to the back to be evaporated away - as It had been a year since I defrosted the whole machine I decided to do it - a few days after, I noticed the drain hole had again become iced up and blocked so I thawed it out with some hot water, clean the hole with a pipe cleaner to ensure it wasn't gunged up and was ok for a few days until today Inoticed that it has iced up again at the drain hole - is the machine on its way out or am I missing something ? It is a Hotpint Iced Diamond and seven years old.

Are you sure the pipe isnt blocked further down.

If you can get to the end where it drains into the tray blow through it, but first put a rog or tissue where the drain hole in the fridge is because you will probably get a lot of gunge through it.

Good luck.

Drain tube is not blocked at either end - pulled the fridge out to check it - am suspecting that we leave it open too long when we open the door - ( i'm never out of the fridge )

Meant to say I reckon the excess water being produced is caused by condensation.
