Not sure really. Weddings in churches can be lovely, but I sort of think it is not an honest thing to do if you don't actually follow a religion and belong to a church. After all, it isn't just a setting ... In a quiet corner of one of the beautiful castles in Ireland could be nice or in the ruins of an old castle somewhere on the Devon coast perhaps. Hotels can be so cold and commercial, so not so fond of those. Sorry I can't give you a specific suggestion. Hope you find somewhere really nice though. :o)
My sister-in-law recently got married in a hotel in the Cotswolds. It was fab. The whole wedding party waas together before, during and after the ceremony, so mingling with each other was so much easier than the traditional church 'do'. The setting was beautiful, the ceremony was extremely touching (and everyone there felt 'part' of it) and the meal (closely followed by party!) was a proper celebration. Only my own wedding (just me and him in the caribbean, followed by a massive party when we came home) surpassed it - imho!
