Sorting out a drawer we had found about �40 of pre-euro Dutch banknotes. Is there anywhere where I can cash these in for something useable?

Probably the only thing you could do after all this time would be to take them to the Dutch National Bank but, for about �60, it's probably not worth it. Next time you travel, why not drop the money in one of the charity colection boxes you find at airports - at least it will be put to some good use.
