i split up with my boyf of 18months. No-one i knew liked him, my friends or my family and he was very jealous and possessive of me. Now I've realised how much I miss him and I want to be with him. All my friends and family think I'm stuid for this as when I was with him alot of the time I was miserable. When I go out with my mates, men don't interest me because I just want my ex. Should I stick it out and will it get better? or should I despite protests be with him and slightly miserable being told that I can't see certain people?

Other people tend to have a far better judgement of someone as they are on the outside of the relationship.

My guess is that they are probably right, considering the part of your post where you say:

''..as when I was with him most of the time I was miserable''

I will also guess that you are probably missing him as it was quite a long relationship and you have lost a security blanket. Give it time..whether you meet someone else or not you will probably start to feel much better by moving on.

Are you missing him, or missing being in a relationship?

I would advise sticking it out. Things will get better in time. Honest.

dont go back to him. he will only get worse and from what you say, its bad enough already. he will never trust you and eventually you become an isolated prson who forgets what life is about.

trust me. im there and it aint nice.

be yourself, see who you want and enjoy life. no one has the right to control you. stand up to him.
there are much nicer people around and more suited to you.
