She is supposed to be a singer!!!! I personally do not like her singing, but everyone has their own taste in music.
To warrant the media coverage, she is just a total prat and is heavily into drugs. that about sums her up tigerlily11

Thanks for that. I've never heard of her myself only what I hear on the news, so commenting on her sing would be difficult.
If shes into drugs then thats her problem really. I don't think its front page stuff though. The pop and rock fraternity have been doing it for decades so I can't for the life of me see what makes her so special.

It is probably the fact that she and her Husband have so many problems that she is in the papers every day.
A bit similar to Pete Doherty. Enormous press coverage there too! Don't know why!

The media are fascinated with 'bad' boys and girls - especially if they are creative. With Ms. Winehouse and her husband, they have one of each, and since pete and kate are having a quiet spell, it's their turn for the media spotlight.

Sadly, both lots of paretns lack the comon sense, courtesy, maturity and dignity to a) keep their opinions within their families, and b) get involved in arguments in the national media, which simply makes things worse.

I do hope neither of the couple self-destruct, but you can be sure that our 'bread and circuses' media will be with them every step of the way ...

You dont have to be a celebrity to be into drugs.The media points out who the druggies are and your local town crier doesnt because he doesnt go snooping to get an award winning pic of a celeb with crack round thier nose.
I like her music, but shes not a good role model.

Why do pop stars have to be seen as 'role models'?

One of the cornerstones of pop music, from Elvis and The Stones onwards, is that your pop heroes live out-there dangerous on-the-edge lives of the sort of excitement that would kill an ordinary mortal in about ten minutes!

If I wanted a pop 'role model', I'd listen to Donny Osmond or Pat Boone. I never have equated the way my pop heroes live their lives with the way I live mine - I don't imagine that being a heroin addict will give me an ounce of Amy W's talent, or make me a wannabe bad boy like that whey-faced loon who hangs out with Kate Moss.

Music is about talent, and artistry, and artists are exposed to the bad side of life - with varying degrees of effect.

If a child of mine was aping any of their bad habbits, I would look to my role in their life as a parent, not their pop idol's role, which they do not seek, or advocate.

Absolutely weecalf - as Paul McCartney famously told a reporter when he (McCartney) was busted for possession in China - "... you are responsibile if this story gets out, I won;t tell anyone if you don't ...".

Ping - Winolouse is doing what was done 40 years ago i.e. Northern Soul. Her voice is deep and distinctive but good? I would say not. Does she hit high notes? I havent heard any.

Her and Doherty should get 2getha, overdose and that would be the end of the 2 losers.

rev - I didn't claim that she was doing anything new, I just said I thought she was talented. I like the fact that she has an old-fashioned sound as this makes a change from most of the crappy music out at the moment

Intersting voice she has. Not your typical squeeky pop voice. And dosn't she look different from the picture in my link. I would never have thought it was the same girl.
Shes ok but I've seen better.
I still don't think she worth all the newspaper inches shes been given.
