why does a simple key stroke cause my pc to crash

As with all diagnostics you need to tell us a) What programs were running at the time and which had focus (i.e. is active) b) what you did immediately before the "crash" c) what you mean by "crash". Does the pc just hang (i.e. keyboard and mouse inactive) or does it close down/restart. Give me more information & I'll try to help.
