Was it Anneka?
Oh, I know what I forgot to mention, is it me or is the soux chef, Mat, a Mr. Angry. Isn't he downright rude to Anneka. Roger the other chef isn't as rude and is always smiling but I thought Mat was quite nasty actually - Sack him!!!
Tell him to leave, its not PC and nasty to watch!

Just because she's female, why is it unacceptable? If it was a bloke and the same degree of treatment had been provided, would you suggest that it was a sexist matter? Or if Angela Harnett had ben in charge and had a go at Paul Young? We have laws to ensure that men and women are treated equally but the girls are always the first to complain when they are treated like blokes. She always was going to be too flakey to do anything constructive. Remember this is not real life. It was all staged. When she went into the cold room to cry and Barry McGuigan went in to talk to her, all their microphones were left on by the director. Clearly, the spikey chef had been told to make her life difficult for the effect of the programme.. Always amazes me that people go on programmes like this to increase their exposure, make money or restart their careers and then think its unfair that they are not treated like stars..
OK Looney, lets take it from another angle. My point being that if one soux chef can get the job done by being quite pleasant, why does he have to be so damn nasty to her. No need it for it? My last sentence was a p*ss take of the previous posts actually but I guess you didn't get that humour, early I know.
Ludwig, quite right. I have been around a long time and seen bullies at work. This is reality TV, this is what we want to watch. Looney, they are not real people going for a job, they are celebs on a reality programme and the point is, he didn't do it to a bloke, funnily enough. I don't think for one minute Mat was told to make her life miserable, but hey ho if you think that then fine. I still think he is an obnoxious bloke and I don't think it was acting. The last sentance in my post was actually a p*ss take of PC but sorry if you didn't get that.
I was glad Anneka left. And so was she. I noted in the interview with slimey Deaton afterwards, he didn't show any clips of Mat being so vile to her (I think he was a bully too) But just showed the clips of her, either standing there in a dream world, or complaining. When she often seemed to work very hard. (yes I know its edited!)
Would Mat of been such a bully to Barry I wonder?
Doubt it.

i can agree with what most of you are saying.
matt felt the pressure and he did take it out on aneka but perhaps she was making error after error and even after being told many times she would not learn by her mistakes which drove matt to being the way his was with her!
you say.... would he of spoke to barry like that?? .......... i doubt it?

I fo got to say that I agree actually. Matt's answer for his attitude is that he is not used to working with women but it is totally unacceptable. All he achieved was to lessen her confidence to a degree where she was too scared to do anything because of his reaction to her.
A good manager should work to people's strengths not degrade and humiliate them to a point of tears. He should be ashamed with himself and if he worked for me, I wouldn't consider him for any sort of advancement until he had learnt some basic 'people' skills.
I know it is a stressful environment but if your way of dealing with stress is to bully the people you are supposed to be teaching, you are in the wrong job! Move over and let someone who is capable do it!!
