siamease fighters

HELP! just recently been given a male siamease fighter fish because my friend bought a male then two females an one of the females turned out to be male so i took it of her and got two females and now one of my females has turned out to be male but the weird thig is that the male that i thought was female turns colour when the male flares out at him and looks like a female,but when the male has gone, he turns back darker and looks like a male. he hasn't got a long tail like the other male that is why i thought he was a female but then the female also changes colour and flares up at the male aswell? anyone help?

OK. Let me try and understand this question. Tell me if this interpretation is wrong because otherwise nobody is going to answer this question. It's a bit hard to understand... "You had 2 fish. 1 female and 1 male. You were given 1 fish. You thought that it was female. You now have 3 fish. It turns out that the fish you received is actually male. FEMALES OCCASIONALLY DISPLAY SAME COLOR CHANGING FIN FLAIRING BEHAVIOR- EVEN ATTACKS THE MALES, BITING THE FINS OFF- I KNOW CUZ I HAD ONE-NEAR KILLED TWO MALES- JUMPING HER TANK INTO THEIRS (5 TIMES) AND TAKING THEM TO NEAR DEATH-

thanks i have been told that the slow blooming males will also pretend to be females because of the alfa male, i think that my fish are female now i have been closely watching them and im settin a new tank up so i might put one of them in there. thanks again x
