How do 'mistake' pregnancies occur if someone is on the pill?

Is it when people are bad at remembering to take it?

I just wondered because im on the pill and really want a child but just cant decide when to stop and when would be a good time. My b/f often says it would be so much easier if it 'just happened'.

It happened to me when I was going through a stressful time. Even though I remembered to take my pill at the same time every day I vomited several times before the pill was in my system.

Usually if this happens you are supposed to use a barrier method just in case, but my mind was elsewhere at the time!

My daughter wasn't an accident though..I prefer to call her a surprise :o)

As a footnote, there is never a 'right time'. If most people waited for that they would probably never have children. What is holding you back?

Well we are in the process of moving house (buying a family home), money will be tight while we settle in and will have lots of decorating to do.

But then I suppose there is always going to be something going on.

Maybe will just wait till we move and then take the plunge!

I was on the pill up to christmas this year and my husband and i didn't want to TRY for a baby, just stop trying NOT to have one. i came off the pill and to be honest we forgot al about it. i found out i was pregnant 2 months ago and it was lovely that i fell pregnant without getting stressed about it. i know that i'm lucky and this doesn't happen to everyone but it was the perfect way and timing for us. some people can fall pregnant the month after stopping the pill, others take a year or longer. only you two can decide when you are ready but just enjoy it! good luck x

In my experience as a mum of four lovely kids it pays to have them before you fit a stupendously expensive carpet ;o)

I was on the pill when I fell pregnant with my daughter. Even I questioned how !! lol When I went through things with my midwife, she said it was probably as the result from being ill around the time which would have prevented the pill from working.

i fell pregnant with baby grape when on the pill but i had diarrhoea didnt read the small print htey don't work when u've got that

Sum people may say "unlucky", but i fell pregnant twice while on the pill (definately not unlucky tho).

6 yrs ago i started to put on weight but thought nothin of it as i was still havin periods. I eventually tuk test wen realised my tummy was swollen. It was +. Wen i had my scan, i was already 3 an a half months gon. Thinkin back, altho i tuk the pill evry day, i had been put on antibiotics an not read the small print. However, 5 an a half months l8a i had a bundle of joy.

I went back on the pill with no probs. Until my periods stopped. I had kind of expected it. I missed 1 day (dont eva think that it will be ok) and it did the deed. I am in the process of moving myself and having so much on my plate and just 8 wks left till this 1 gets here.

Nun of it was planned but i wudnt change any of it. My partner an me r happy an my lil' girl is ova the moon that she is havin a baby sis. Just make sure that if u r not ready yet, 2 cover all possibilities because all it takes is 1 opportunity an u have a baby 9 mnths down the line.
